However, young Krishna, recognizing the true source of their sustenance as the Govardhan Hill, a local mountain that provided grazing land for their cattle, advised them to worship the hill instead. Displeased by this disregard, Indra unleashed a torrential downpour upon Vrindavan, threatening to flood the entire region.
